Hello! Thanks for stopping by.

My name is Gizella, I currently live in Southern California. I grew up in Hungary, but the second half of my life I spent in the USA (Massachusetts and Colorado, prior to moving to California).
I have a wonderful husband and a delightful teen daughter. I was a teacher for over 15 years (mostly taught in Montessori schools), I love my small garden and I am an avid reader. A few years ago I started listening to audiobooks during my walks and drives, and since then I haven’t stopped. I consider myself a life-long learner.

I love photography. My dad took and developed photos when I was a young child, but he later stopped. I enjoyed taking photos throughout my life, but the digital photography era pulled me into the craft even more. I’ve discovered the fun of photo manipulation, and have been seeing and showing the world around me differently since then. I use my photos as a draft canvas and start playing with them until my heart tells me I have what I wanted to share. I’d like people stop and “EXPERIENCE LIFE TODAY” instead of rushing through their lives. I hope to help people recognize the special moments in the present that often just slip away. I’d like everyone to be inspired by now, and not live in the past or in the future.

One of my favorite quotes is by Ferris at the end of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off movie: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

My goal with my blog posts is to inspire you in areas of life that I am most interested in: photography, gardening and reading. Please also visit my photography portfolio to see my work.

Thank you for visiting.
